Computer Courses: Microsoft Office, Excel & PC Skills

These computer courses are for people who use a computer all day and need to work faster and with fewer errors: administrators, analysts, finance and HR teams, managers who build their own reports, and new staff still finding their way around Windows and Microsoft 365. Every course is hands-on, and on most of the two-day courses delegates spend the second day working on their own files and data.

Courses run from one to five days. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook follow a clear ladder from Essentials to Advanced, and several two-day courses also run as a one-day version. Training runs in-house at your premises, at BOTI's venue in Sunningdale, Johannesburg, or online. For ChatGPT and Copilot, see Artificial Intelligence & Copilot.

Frequently asked questions

Which Excel course should my team start with?

Start with Essentials if people are new to formulas. Choose Intermediate if they already write basic formulas and now need lookups, SUMIFS and pivot tables. Advanced suits people who use those every day and want Power Query, Power Pivot and dashboards. If a whole cohort needs all three levels, Excel Beginners to Advanced covers them in three days.

Is there a one-day version?

Yes, for Excel Essentials, Intermediate and Advanced, both Word courses, both PowerPoint courses, Outlook and Introduction to Computers. The two-day version adds a second day in which delegates apply the skills to their own work.

Can you train our team at our offices or online?

Yes. Every course here runs in-house at your premises, at BOTI's venue in Sunningdale, Johannesburg, or online. Tell us how many people need training and where they are, and we will quote for the group.

Are these courses accredited?

No. Apart from the National Certificate listed for enrolled learners, the courses in this category are not accredited. They are delivered as professional skills programmes, and delegates receive a BOTI certificate of attendance. For credit-bearing training, see the accredited route above.
