Business Optimization Training Institute (Pty) Ltd is accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) and the Services SETA. Every claim on this page can be verified against the accreditation letters linked below and against the SAQA register at allqs.saqa.org.za. QCTO – 22 accredited offerings
Eleven occupational qualifications and eleven occupational skills programmes, accredited across nine letters issued between May 2024 and August 2026. Occupational qualifications are the national standard replacing the pre-2009 system, and their credits are recognised for B-BBEE skills development spend, SETA grants and learnerships.

These are two different dates. Accredited to is how long BOTI is accredited to deliver the qualification. Last enrolment is the last date on which any provider may enrol a new learner on that qualification, as registered by SAQA. The earlier date always binds. Seven of the qualifications above close to new enrolments on 30 or 31 December 2026; after that date only learners already enrolled continue, through to their achievement deadline in 2029.

Skills programmes are registered by the QCTO for a fixed period; ‘accredited to’ above is BOTI’s accreditation, and the programme’s own last-enrolment date is shown on the accredited-training page. New Venture Creation (SP-210401) is not on the QCTO’s 2026 extension circular and its extension is being confirmed with the QCTO; its current last enrolment is 25 October 2027.
Services SETA – Accreditation No. 12582
Eight legacy qualifications in business administration, generic management, management and new venture creation. Under the Minister’s transitional arrangements for pre-2009 qualifications (explained below), the last date for new enrolments is 30 June 2028, with achievement to 30 June 2031.

Why pre-2009 qualifications are still open to enrolment
The eight Services SETA qualifications above were registered under the old (pre-2009) framework and reached their registration end dates in 2021–2023. They remain open to new learners because the Minister of Higher Education and Training has extended them under the transitional arrangements for pre-2009 qualifications, and the Services SETA has confirmed that BOTI’s accreditation 12582 stays valid for as long as they are open. The chain of authority (also available as a one-page statement on BOTI letterhead: Accreditation status – Services SETA legacy qualifications, September 2026):
- Government Gazette 50742, Notice 4920 (3 June 2024) — the Minister’s Directive on the Implementation and Transitional Arrangements for pre-2009 Qualifications, issued under sections 3(2) and 36 of the NQF Act. It deregistered 1,101 pre-2009 qualifications and unit standards and extended the last date of enrolment for 374 that were being realigned to occupational qualifications, for one to two years. - Services SETA circular, 19 June 2024 — confirmed that every Skills Development Provider accredited for the 42 historically registered qualifications in the Services sector, including BOTI (accreditation 12582), keeps its accreditation “in line with the last date of enrolment and last date of achievement” set by the gazette. BOTI’s Services SETA accreditation and extension letter (the 2019 accreditation letter with the June 2024 circular attached).
- Government Gazette 51771 (13 December 2024) — a further case-by-case extension of up to two years for pre-2009 qualifications still in the realignment process.
- Government Gazette 54858 (17 June 2026) — the Minister’s transitional arrangements for the remaining pre-2009 qualifications: of 1,475 that had reached their end dates, 630 were extended for enrolment and achievement by six to twenty-four months and the rest deregistered. Accredited providers may continue with approved enrolments and delivery.
The result is what the SAQA register shows today for each of the eight: last date for enrolment 30 June 2028 (30 June 2027 for FETC: New Venture Creation 66249) and last date for achievement 30 June 2031. The dates in the table above are taken from the register, not from the letters, because the register is updated each time a directive is gazetted. A note on End User Computing
BOTI previously held MICT SETA accreditation (ACC/2016/07/0045) for the National Certificate: Information Technology: End User Computing (SAQA ID 61591). That accreditation expired on 30 June 2025, and the qualification itself closed to new enrolments on 30 June 2026. Learners enrolled while the accreditation was current are being taught out to achievement, to 30 June 2029.
BOTI does not currently offer accredited End User Computing training: our MS Office and computer courses are delivered as professional skills programmes with a BOTI certificate of attendance. BOTI’s application to the QCTO for the three End User Computing occupational skills programmes (Basic NQF 3, Intermediate NQF 4, Advanced NQF 5) has been submitted; this page and the course pages will be updated when the letter is issued.
