Train the Trainer & ETDP

These courses are for the people who develop other people: subject experts and managers who train their teams, in-house trainers and facilitators, assessors and moderators, learning material developers, skills development facilitators (SDFs), and HR and learning and development practitioners. ETDP stands for education, training and development practices. The courses cover how to design learning material, facilitate a group, deliver training that changes behaviour, assess and moderate competence, support learners, and plan and report on an organisation's training.
The short courses run for 1 to 3 days and give a BOTI certificate of attendance. For a credit-bearing outcome, BOTI offers two QCTO skills programmes for assessment and work-based learning practitioners (see the accredited route below). Training runs in-house at your premises, at BOTI's venue in Sunningdale, Johannesburg, or online.

Frequently asked questions
Which course suits a manager who trains their own team?
The one-day Train-The-Trainer course. People who want to train as a career take the 3-day Train the Trainer (Facilitator Training) course, and can go on to Assessor Skills and Moderator Skills, which together make up the Certified Facilitator path.
What is the difference between these courses and the QCTO skills programmes?
The short courses teach the skills and end with a BOTI certificate of attendance. The QCTO skills programmes carry NQF credits, include a period of real practice in the workplace, and end in a FISA, after which the QCTO issues the certificate.
We need someone to handle our Workplace Skills Plan. Which course?
The Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) Training Course. It is written for HR and L&D leads, business owners and operations managers who need an in-house SDF to plan training and prepare the Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report for the SETA.
Can you train our trainers at our premises, or online?
Yes. Every short course can be delivered in-house at your premises anywhere in South Africa, at BOTI's venue in Sunningdale, Johannesburg, or online, and built around your organisation's own training. Per-delegate rates fall as the group grows.
