    Course Outline

    Become a skilled Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) when you learn:

    Gain an understanding of the context of Skills Development in South Africa:  Module 1

    Successful completion of this module will help you grasp the elements involved in:

    • The principles of Outcomes-based Education and Training
    • Providing the required information around legislation, learning and assessment in relation to skills development
    • Consult with organisations in terms of aligning to skills development best practices

    How to conduct an analysis of learning outcomes for skills development and other initiatives:  Module 2

    Upon successfully completing this practical module you will learn how to:

    • How to plan and organise the analysis process
    • How to conduct an analysis
    • How to identify current skills as well as those skills that are still required using a gap analysis
    • How to establish learning requirements
    • How to establish skills priorities and reach agreement in terms of addressing those priorities

    How to create a Workplace Skills Plan (WSP):  Module 3

    Once you have completed this module you will have an in-depth understanding of:

    • The context in which a Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) operates and what elements are required
    • How to develop a Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) by creating a matrix of the information required for the WSP

    How to coordinate planned skills development initiatives:  Module 4

    Upon successful completion of this module you will learn:

    • What types of skills development initiatives are deployed within organisations
    • How to plan and organise various types of learning interventions
    • How to coordinate various types of learning interventions
    • How to review and report on various types of learning interventions

    How to conduct Skills Development Administration processes within an organisation:  Module 5

    The successful completion of this module will enable you to:

    • Effectively collate and store data pertaining to skills development
    • Provide information pertaining to skills development using available data
    • Make recommendations around improving systems and methods involved in the processing of data relating to skills development
