Training Advice
Working with Business Data (Unit Standards 9012 + 13933) (3 days)
Administrators who collect and analyse data, use probability to make sense of workplace problems, and plan, monitor and control the filing and information system the office depends on – with 8 accredited credits.
Offices run on information: figures that must be understood and records that must be found when needed. This accredited business data course combines two unit standards from the National Certificate: Business Administration Services (NQF Level 3, SAQA ID 67465), each taught and assessed on its own: unit standard 9012 on investigating life and work problems with data and probabilities (NQF Level 3, 5 credits) and unit standard 13933 on planning, monitoring and controlling an office information system (NQF Level 3, 3 credits). Because both belong to the same qualification, BOTI registers them together as one skills programme under its Services SETA accreditation.
Days one and two follow unit standard 9012: posing questions and collecting data, representing, analysing and interpreting it, and exploring probability with workplace examples, ending with a short data project.
Day three follows unit standard 13933: planning a storage and retrieval system, monitoring how filing and retrieval work in practice, and controlling the system so that information stays accurate and available.
