Training Advice
Producing a Business Plan (Unit Standard 119670) (3 days)
New and aspiring business owners who understand what a business plan must contain, structure their venture properly and leave with a complete plan they can run the business on and take to funders – with 8 accredited credits.
A business plan is both a map for running a new venture and the first document a funder asks for, yet many start-ups only write one when a bank insists. This accredited business plan course covers unit standard 119670 (NQF Level 2, 8 credits), a core unit standard in the National Certificate: New Venture Creation (SMME) (SAQA ID 49648), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one explains the building blocks: the legal forms a new business can take, the registrations and compliance it needs, the business, financial, marketing and operations sections of a plan, the ethics involved, and how a plan serves both as a management tool and as a funding application.
Day two has delegates design the organisation of their own venture, with an organogram, functions, lines of authority and staffing needs, and gather the resources, mentors, legal requirements and information the plan needs. On day three they write their own business plan, from the vision statement and goals to the marketing, financial and cash flow plans.
