National Certificate: Business Administration Services (NQF Level 3)

Administrators gain a nationally recognised NQF Level 3 qualification and run meetings, reception, bookings, supplies and office systems to a professional standard.

Once administrators move beyond entry level, they are expected to run things: meetings, travel, bookings, reception, office supplies, equipment and information systems. The National Certificate: Business Administration Services is the business administration NQF 3 qualification for that stage (SAQA ID 67465, 120 credits). It suits anyone working, or wanting to work, in administration in any sector, including clubs and charitable organisations.

BOTI delivers it as 24 contact days over 9 to 12 months. The core covers information handling, communication, customer service, technology, organisation skills, self-development, teamwork and business policies: coordinating meetings, events and travel, preparing meeting communications, booking systems, office supplies and equipment, basic office research, information systems, spreadsheets and word processing, employment relations, introducing new staff, workplace security and handling conflict. Fundamentals build communication and business calculations. The elective component allows specialisation in areas such as reception, executive administration, financial services and banking, legal administration and human resources.

The qualification is delivered under BOTI's Services SETA accreditation (12582), with new enrolments open until 30 June 2028. It also gives learners the competencies they need to move on to business administration at NQF Level 4.
