Training Advice
Operational Planning (Unit Standard 252032) (3 days)
Managers who turn the organisation's strategy into a practical plan for their unit, put it into action with their team, and measure whether it is delivering – with 8 accredited credits.
A strategy only matters when each unit knows what it must deliver and how progress will be measured. This accredited operational planning course covers unit standard 252032 (NQF Level 5, 8 credits), part of the National Certificate: Generic Management (SAQA ID 59201), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one starts with the organisation's strategic plan: what your unit is there to contribute, operational strategies that support the bigger picture, and clear, measurable goals, objectives and standards agreed with stakeholders. Day two turns those goals into an operational plan that sets out who does what, by when, with which resources and measures, and what happens if things go wrong, plus a way of tracking progress.
Day three is about delivery: implementing and adjusting the plan, using resources cost-effectively, supporting first-line managers to apply controls, reviewing team performance and evaluating each team's contribution to the unit's results.
