Training Advice
Leading Change (Unit Standard 252021) (3 days)
Managers who can show why their unit needs to change, back it with a SWOT analysis, choose a fitting change model and present a practical change plan that deals with people's responses – with 8 accredited credits.
Change fails most often not because the idea is wrong but because nobody made the case for it or planned for how people would react. This accredited change management course for managers covers unit standard 252021 (NQF Level 5, 8 credits), part of the National Certificate: Generic Management (SAQA ID 59201), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one looks at the nature of change, the internal and external forces behind it and its effect on sustainability, and then compares a unit's current state with its desired state, using a SWOT analysis to make the case for change.
Day two compares change models and how to choose one that fits the findings. Day three turns the analysis into recommendations: a change management plan with phases, actions, owners, time frames and stakeholder communication, ways to handle resistance and other human responses, and what the change leader must do and be able to do.
