Code of Conduct and Management Roles (Unit Standards 242815 + 242818) (3 days)
Junior managers and team leaders who understand ethics, apply the organisation's code of conduct in their team, and know how their role fits with the rest of management – with 10 accredited credits.
A code of conduct only works when the people who lead teams understand it, apply it and know where their own authority sits. This accredited code of conduct training combines two unit standards from the FETC: Generic Management (SAQA ID 57712), each taught and assessed on its own: unit standard 242815 on applying the organisation's code of conduct at work (NQF Level 4, 5 credits) and unit standard 242818 on how junior management relates to other roles (NQF Level 4, 5 credits). Because both belong to the same qualification, BOTI registers them together as one skills programme under its Services SETA accreditation.
Days one and two follow unit standard 242815: ethics and the moral compass, what a code of conduct is for, and upholding the code in the team, with case studies.
Day three follows unit standard 242818: why an organisation's type, owners and size affect how management is structured, drawing and analysing organograms, and how a junior manager's area links to other roles and functions.
