Training Advice
Time Management: Manage Time and Work Processes (Unit Standard 14342)
Staff who plan their work, prioritise properly and meet their deadlines – and who flag delays early instead of missing them.
Missed deadlines, double-booked meetings and urgent work that crowds out important work are rarely about effort. They are about method. This accredited time management training gives office and support staff a practical method for managing their time and their work. It covers unit standard 14342, Manage time and work processes within a business environment (NQF Level 2, 4 credits), part of the National Certificate: Business Administration Services (SAQA ID 23833).
Over two days, delegates learn to prioritise tasks, keep a diary up to date – in an electronic calendar or on paper – and plan and follow a daily and weekly work schedule. They build a task list that drives follow-up, schedule enough time to meet each deadline, and report in good time, and properly, when a task will not be finished as agreed.
Every exercise uses the delegates' own work, so they leave with a working diary, schedule and task list. The course ends with BOTI's accredited assessment; delegates found competent earn the unit standard's 4 credits.
