Training Advice
People Development and Talent Management (Unit Standard 252029) (3 days)
Managers who find the real skills gaps in their unit, link them to careers and the talent strategy, build a sound people development plan and see it through – with 8 accredited credits.
A unit's results depend on its people, yet training is often chosen by habit rather than need. This accredited course in people development and talent management covers unit standard 252029 (NQF Level 5, 8 credits), part of the National Certificate: Generic Management (SAQA ID 59201), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one is the training needs analysis: using performance appraisals and the organisation's talent strategy to find skills gaps, agreeing the findings with stakeholders such as the Skills Development Facilitator, and writing a report that links each need to career paths and to training or non-training solutions.
Day two builds the people development plan: choosing learning programmes such as learnerships, skills programmes, coaching and mentoring, setting objectives, responsibilities and time frames, and aligning the plan with South Africa's skills development framework. Day three is about implementation: monitoring progress, analysing reports and writing a final evaluation with recommendations.
