Training Advice
Running Effective Meetings (Unit Standards 13929 + 13934) (3 days)
Secretaries, personal assistants and administrators who arrange meetings, events and travel smoothly, produce clear agendas, and take accurate minutes and send them out on time – with 7 accredited credits.
A good meeting depends on the work done before and after it. This accredited meeting management course combines two unit standards from the National Certificate: Business Administration Services (NQF Level 3, SAQA ID 67465), each taught and assessed on its own: unit standard 13929 on coordinating meetings, minor events and travel (NQF Level 3, 3 credits) and unit standard 13934 on planning and preparing meeting communications (NQF Level 3, 4 credits). Because both belong to the same qualification, BOTI registers them together as one skills programme under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one follows unit standard 13929: setting the date, venue and time, arranging the venue and catering, organising travel, car hire and accommodation, and assembling and sending out the documents.
Days two and three follow unit standard 13934: what a well-built agenda achieves, the purpose of minutes and who receives them, taking minutes, and practice at a mock meeting.
