Training Advice
Developing Administrative Procedures (Unit Standard 110003) (3 days)
Administrators who work out which systems the office needs, design and improve them with management and staff, keep confidential information secure, and capture it all in a clear procedures manual – with 8 accredited credits.
When administrative procedures live only in people's heads, work stalls every time someone is away and the same mistakes keep coming back. This accredited administrative procedures course covers unit standard 110003 (NQF Level 4, 8 credits), part of the Further Education and Training Certificate: Business Administration Services (SAQA ID 61595), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one maps the administrative systems your organisation needs, such as client filing, staff administration and business systems, what each must contain to meet company and legal requirements, and the people, technology, space and management support needed to run them. Day two covers designing or updating up to four of those systems, presenting them to management and staff, refining them through feedback, and deciding which information must stay confidential and who may see it.
Day three turns the work into policies and procedures that comply with legislation and company rules, explains them to employees, and brings them together in a written manual in the company's own format.
