    ISO 9001:2015 / ISO 45001 Awareness & Internal Auditor (2 days)

Staff who understand what ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 ask of their own jobs, and internal auditors who can plan, run and report a credible audit.

Customers, tender panels and head offices increasingly expect suppliers to run a certified quality and occupational health and safety management system. Yet most of the people who work inside that system have never read the clauses, and internal audits often become a box-ticking exercise the week before the certification body arrives. This ISO internal auditor training deals with both problems in two days.

Day one is an awareness day: the harmonised structure shared by ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001, the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, and a clause-by-clause walk-through of each standard in everyday language – from context and leadership to risk, operational control, nonconformity and improvement, including worker participation and hazard identification under ISO 45001. Day two builds the internal audit skill using the ISO 19011 guidelines: planning the audit, writing a checklist from the clauses, interviewing and gathering objective evidence, writing nonconformity statements and following corrective action through to closure.

Delegates practise on realistic audit scenarios and leave with a checklist and report template they can use at the next internal audit. This is an awareness and internal-audit skills course: it is not a lead auditor qualification and it does not certify your organisation.

    Why this course

    For your organisation

    • Staff who know what the quality and safety system requires of their own work
    • Internal audits that find real issues before the external auditor does
    • Corrective actions tracked to closure and fed into management review
    • Better preparation for certification, surveillance and customer audits
    • One integrated approach to quality and health and safety audits

    For your delegates

    • A plain-language understanding of the ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 clauses
    • A step-by-step method for planning and conducting an internal audit
    • Practice in interviewing, sampling records and writing findings
    • Audit checklist and report templates to use at work

What delegates will be able to do

    • Explain the harmonised structure and the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle behind ISO 9001 and ISO 45001
    • Interpret the main ISO 9001:2015 clauses and relate them to everyday work
    • Interpret the main ISO 45001 clauses, including worker participation and hazard identification
    • Apply the ISO 19011 audit principles to an internal audit
    • Plan an audit: scope, criteria, schedule and checklist
    • Gather objective evidence through interviews, records and observation
    • Write clear nonconformity statements and grade findings
    • Report audit results and follow corrective actions to closure

    Who should attend

Quality and SHE coordinators, internal auditors and staff about to join the internal audit team, line managers and supervisors whose areas are audited, health and safety representatives, and management representatives preparing for ISO 9001 or ISO 45001 certification or surveillance audits. No previous audit experience is needed.

From one delegate to a group of about 20. The price per delegate drops as the group grows – see the price table, or ask us for a quote.

Do we need to be certified already?

No. The course suits organisations preparing for certification as well as those that are already certified and want stronger internal audits.
