OKR Fundamentals Certified (OKRFC) Training (1 day)

Set fewer, clearer goals that the whole organisation can see – and run an OKR cycle that keeps teams focused and honest about progress.

Most organisations have a strategy, a set of KPIs and a long list of projects, yet teams still struggle to say which few results matter most this quarter. Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) close that gap. This one-day OKR training teaches managers and teams to write clear objectives and measurable key results, link them to strategy, and track them in short cycles.

Delegates learn where OKRs came from – Intel, then Google and many others – and how they differ from KPIs, targets and task lists. They practise writing inspiring, time-bound objectives and outcome-based key results with baselines, decide when to use committed or aspirational OKRs, and align company, team and individual goals across dependencies. The second half of the day covers running the cycle: choosing the cadence, weekly check-ins with confidence levels, scoring, end-of-cycle reviews and how to roll OKRs out without them becoming a box-ticking exercise or a bonus scheme.

In the workshop each team drafts its own OKRs for the next quarter and peer-reviews them against the rules. The day ends with the OKR Fundamentals Certified (OKRFC) exam, which is free.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is the exam included?

Yes. The OKRFC exam is free and is written online at the end of the day: 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, with 60% needed to pass.

Do OKRs replace our KPIs or performance contracts?

No. KPIs keep measuring business-as-usual health; OKRs focus effort on the few changes that matter this cycle. The course shows how to run both, and why OKRs should be kept separate from pay decisions.

Can you run it at our offices, and for how many people?

Yes. We train at your premises anywhere in South Africa, at a BOTI venue or live online, for one delegate or a group of up to 20. Training a leadership team together lets the workshop draft real company OKRs.

    Is it accredited?

No – it is a non-accredited short course. Delegates receive a BOTI certificate of attendance and, if they pass, the international OKRFC certification from OKRstudy.

Can the course be tailored to our strategy?

Yes. Send us your strategic priorities or current goals beforehand and the facilitator uses them in the workshop.

Can you run this course in Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban?

Yes. We train on site at your offices in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town and across South Africa, at a BOTI venue in Johannesburg, or live online so a team spread over several offices can attend together.
