Develop a Plan to Enhance Team Performance (Unit Standard 13912)
First-line managers who understand themselves and their team well enough to head off conflict and put a workable plan in place to lift team performance.
Most supervisors are promoted because they were good at the job, not because anyone taught them how a team behaves. This accredited team performance training gives first-line managers that understanding. It covers unit standard 13912, Apply knowledge of self and team in order to develop a plan to enhance team performance (NQF Level 3, 5 credits), aligned to the Further Education and Training Certificate: Business Administration Services (SAQA ID 61595).
Delegates start with themselves: their role in the organisation, their strengths and weaknesses, and how they come across in their position. They then study the dynamics of the group they manage – roles, relationships, norms and how decisions really get made – and practise a range of strategies for dealing with conflict that grows out of personal differences and group dynamics, before it damages the work.
On the third day each delegate builds a practical action plan to improve the performance of their own team, using what they have learnt about themselves and their people. The course ends with BOTI's accredited assessment; delegates found competent earn the unit standard's 5 credits.
