Managing Team Time and Workload (Unit Standards 242811 + 15234) (3 days)

Team leaders and supervisors who keep task lists and diaries that work, prioritise their own and their team's work, and plan a section's time so that deadlines are met – with 9 accredited credits.

Supervisors who cannot prioritise end up firefighting, and their teams feel it. This accredited team time management course combines two unit standards, each taught and assessed on its own: unit standard 242811 on prioritising time and work for self and team (NQF Level 4, 5 credits), part of the FETC: Generic Management (SAQA ID 57712), and unit standard 15234 on efficient time management in a department (NQF Level 5, 4 credits), part of the FETC: Business Administration Services (SAQA ID 61595).

Days one and two follow unit standard 242811: building a task list for yourself and your team, setting priorities, keeping a diary that drives action, and assigning, monitoring and reporting on the team's tasks.

Day three follows unit standard 15234: time-management profiles and time wasters, the 80/20 principle, delegation, and turning objectives into time-efficient work plans for the section.
