Decision Making and Time Management (Unit Standards 252026 + 15234) (3 days)
Managers who analyse problems as part of a wider system, involve the right people, make and communicate sound decisions, and run their department's time efficiently – with 10 accredited credits.
Poor decisions and poorly used time are two of the biggest hidden costs in any department. This accredited decision making course combines two unit standards, each taught and assessed on its own: unit standard 252026 on a systems approach to decision making (NQF Level 5, 6 credits), part of the National Certificate: Generic Management (SAQA ID 59201), and unit standard 15234 on efficient time management in a department (NQF Level 5, 4 credits), part of the FETC: Business Administration Services (SAQA ID 61595).
Days one and two follow unit standard 252026: analysing a problem and what affects it, involving stakeholders and the team in finding solutions, choosing the solution that works best for the whole system, and formulating and communicating the decision with an implementation plan.
Day three follows unit standard 15234: time-management profiles and time wasters, the principles of prioritising and delegating, and turning objectives into time-efficient work plans that are implemented and monitored.
