Ethics and Organisational Culture (Unit Standards 252042 + 242815) (3 days)
Managers and team leaders who understand how values shape culture and results, measure their unit's ethics, plan improvements and uphold the code of conduct in their teams – with 10 accredited credits.
An organisation's culture is the sum of what its people actually do when nobody is checking. This accredited business ethics training combines two unit standards, each taught and assessed on its own: unit standard 252042 on applying ethical principles to improve organisational culture (NQF Level 5, 5 credits), part of the National Certificate: Generic Management (SAQA ID 59201), and unit standard 242815 on applying the organisation's code of conduct (NQF Level 4, 5 credits), part of the FETC: Generic Management (SAQA ID 57712). BOTI delivers both under its Services SETA accreditation.
Days one and two follow unit standard 252042: how personal values, organisational ethics and culture connect and affect the triple bottom line; the laws, codes and governance reports that require ethical conduct in South Africa, including the Constitution, the King Report and the PFMA; analysing a unit's ethical practices with a suitable instrument; and an implementation plan to strengthen values, the code of conduct and ethical practice.
Day three follows unit standard 242815: personal ethics and the moral compass, the code of conduct and the Constitution, and how a team leader upholds the code, handles deviations and reports concerns.
