Training Advice
Workplace Writing and Minutes (Unit Standards 119465 + 13934) (3 days)
Staff who write clear workplace texts for any reader and produce agendas and minutes that are accurate, concise and on time – with 9 accredited credits.
Meetings only move work forward when the agenda is clear and the minutes are accurate. This accredited minute taking course combines two unit standards, each taught and assessed on its own: unit standard 119465 on writing for different audiences and purposes (NQF Level 3, 5 credits) and unit standard 13934 on planning and preparing meeting communications (NQF Level 3, 4 credits).
Days one and two build the writing skills behind every good minute: knowing the reader and the purpose, choosing the right style and tone, structuring sentences and paragraphs, and drafting and editing until the text is clear and correct.
Day three follows unit standard 13934: what makes a good agenda, why minutes matter, the kinds of minutes, and how to take, write up and distribute minutes promptly. BOTI delivers both unit standards under its Services SETA accreditation.
