Training Advice
Microsoft Copilot for Productivity (1 day)
Staff use Copilot in the Microsoft 365 apps they already work in all day, and check its output before anything goes out.
Many South African organisations now pay for Microsoft 365 Copilot, yet most staff use it for little more than the occasional email. The licence is in place; the habits are not. This one-day Microsoft Copilot training takes delegates through Copilot in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint on the kind of work they do every day, so the time savings show up in the first week rather than the first year.
The day moves app by app. Delegates draft and rewrite documents in Word, explore a data table and get formula help in Excel, summarise long threads and draft replies in Outlook, capture meeting recaps and action items in Teams, and build a first-draft deck in PowerPoint. Between the apps they learn a simple prompt structure and use Copilot Chat to pull together information from files, emails and meetings.
The day ends with the rules that keep Copilot use safe: checking output against the source, protecting confidential and personal information under POPIA, and knowing what Copilot can see in your organisation's data. Delegates practise on their own work accounts, so they learn on the features your licences include.

Anyone who works in Microsoft 365 and wants to get real use out of Copilot in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint: administrators, personal assistants, analysts, professionals, team leaders and managers in any department. It suits all levels and needs no previous AI experience. It works best for organisations that have Microsoft 365 Copilot licences in place or are rolling them out.

Frequently asked questions
Do delegates need a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence?
For the full exercises inside Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint, yes – each delegate needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence on their work account. If your organisation only has Copilot Chat, tell us beforehand: we adapt the exercises and show clearly which features need the paid licence.
Can you run this course at our offices?
Yes. Most Copilot groups are trained at the client's premises anywhere in South Africa, on their own network and accounts. We can also deliver it at a BOTI venue or live online.
How many people can attend?
From one delegate to groups of 20. The price per delegate drops as the group grows – see the price table, or ask us for a quote.
Is it accredited?
No – it is a non-accredited short course, and delegates receive a BOTI certificate of attendance.
Is there a longer version?
Yes. Microsoft Copilot at Work (2 days) covers the same apps on day one and adds a second day on prompting craft, data work in Excel, team workflows, quality control and a responsible-use policy.
Can the exercises use our own documents?
Yes. Send us a few of your team's recurring documents, reports or meeting types (with anything confidential removed) and the facilitator builds the exercises around them.
