Training Advice
Managing a Unit’s Finances and Assets (Unit Standards 7468 + 13945) (3 days)
Supervisors and administrators who plan and control budgets and loans, work out costs, revenue and profit, and manage stock and fixed assets so that money is not tied up or lost – with 8 accredited credits.
A unit's money is spent through its budgets and tied up in its stock and equipment. This accredited financial management course combines two unit standards from the FETC: Business Administration Services (SAQA ID 61595), each taught and assessed on its own: unit standard 7468 on using mathematics to investigate and monitor money matters (NQF Level 4, 6 credits) and unit standard 13945 on managing stock and fixed assets (NQF Level 4, 2 credits). Because both belong to the same qualification, BOTI registers them together as one skills programme under its Services SETA accreditation.
Days one and two follow unit standard 7468: planning and controlling budgets, loans and investments, simple and compound interest, the link between costs, revenue and profit, and using figures to discuss inflation and the wider economy.
Day three follows unit standard 13945: telling fixed assets from stock, how stock management affects profit, managing fixed assets over their life, and applying both in your own unit.
