    Employee Motivation Course (1 day)

Managers who know what drives each person in their team and use goals, feedback and recognition to lift performance and morale.

When productivity stalls, absenteeism creeps up or good people go quiet, the cause is often motivation rather than ability. Money alone rarely fixes it: pay and conditions prevent dissatisfaction, but lasting drive comes from recognition, growth, ownership and work that matters. This one-day employee motivation training gives managers and team leaders a practical way to work out what drives each person and act on it.

The course covers the motivation models that are genuinely useful at work – Maslow, Herzberg, reinforcement, expectancy and equity – and turns each one into something a manager can do on Monday: a conversation, a goal, a form of recognition. Delegates look at how personality changes what motivates people, set SMART goals, design motivating jobs and team practices, and learn how to tackle low morale in one person, a team or a whole department.

Delegates leave with a written motivation plan for their team and for themselves. Sales managers can ask for examples built around target-driven teams, incentives and public recognition.

    Why this course

    For your organisation

    • Managers who diagnose disengagement instead of guessing at it
    • Recognition and rewards spent where they actually change behaviour
    • Earlier action on low morale before it spreads through a team
    • Better retention of the people you most want to keep

    For your delegates

    • Five motivation models explained in plain, practical terms
    • A way to read what motivates each person in your team
    • SMART goals your team can own and track
    • A written motivation plan for your team and for yourself

What delegates will be able to do

    • Explain the difference between motivation and engagement, and why pay alone rarely sustains either
    • Apply Maslow's and Herzberg's models to diagnose why a team member is or is not motivated
    • Use reinforcement and expectancy theory to shape behaviour and link effort to reward
    • Recognise how personality type changes what motivates people
    • Set SMART goals with team members and review them regularly
    • Choose feedback, recognition and rewards that suit the individual and the team
    • Identify and address morale problems at individual, team and organisational level
    • Build a personal plan to keep yourself motivated

    Who should attend

Line managers, supervisors and team leaders; department, operations and branch managers; sales managers who run target-driven teams; and HR and L&D practitioners building an engagement or recognition approach for the organisation.
