Accreditation
The Leadership and People Management course is a non-accredited professional skills programme. It is built for practical workplace results rather than credits.
If you need a formal qualification, BOTI also offers the National Certificate: Generic Management. This is a legacy Services SETA qualification at NQF Level 5. On its SAQA record, the last date for enrolment is 30 June 2028 and the last date for achievement is 30 June 2031[1]. Funding: skills levy, WSP and B-BBEE skills development
For Johannesburg employers, it helps to understand how leadership training fits into the skills system:
- Skills Development Levy (SDL): employers pay 1% of the leviable amount (total remuneration). Employers whose leviable amount over the next 12 months will not exceed R500,000 are exempt[2].
