Looking for a project management course in Johannesburg that comes to your team instead of pulling them off-site? We train your staff together, on your projects, at your premises in Sandton, Midrand, Randburg, Rosebank or anywhere else in the Gauteng metro. Call 011 882 8853 or request a quote, and we will tailor a programme to your sector and your team’s skills levels.
Most Johannesburg employers we work with would rather keep their teams in the building. With in-house delivery, a BOTI facilitator runs the course in your boardroom or training room. Your offices can be in Sandton’s financial district, the Midrand corridor between Johannesburg and Pretoria, Randburg, Rosebank or anywhere else in the metro.
On-site delivery at your premises suits Johannesburg buyers because:
Prefer not to host? Delegates can attend at BOTI’s venue in Sunningdale, Johannesburg, or join live online sessions if your team is spread across Gauteng. The course content and outcomes are the same in every format.
Johannesburg has many head offices, financial services firms and technology businesses. That mix shapes who books this course and why:
When a project overruns, the cause is seldom the technology. More often, people are not planning, scheduling, managing risk and communicating to a common standard. That common standard is what this training builds.
The programme prepares delegates to plan, run and close projects with confidence across the full project life cycle:
The content follows recognised project management practice and can be weighted towards your sector. For example, a financial services PMO might focus on regulatory milestone tracking, and a telecoms programme on rollout governance.
This training suits a wide range of Johannesburg professionals:
No prior qualification is required for the short courses. Mixed-experience teams are welcome, and we adjust the pace and examples to suit the group.
BOTI’s project management short courses are not accredited. They are practical professional skills programmes, and delegates receive a BOTI certificate of attendance.
If your team needs a formal qualification, BOTI is a QCTO-accredited Skills Development Provider and offers the Occupational Certificate: Project Manager (SAQA ID 101869). It is a separate, longer programme at NQF Level 5 with 240 credits[1]. It ends in an External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA), and the QCTO issues the certificate. BOTI also holds Services SETA accreditation (12582) for legacy SETA qualifications. Tell us your industry and team, and we will help you choose between a short course and the qualification.
Last dates for new enrolments: Project Manager (SAQA ID 101869): enrol by 30 December 2026, complete by 30 December 2029[1]. This occupational certificate closes to new learners on that date, so new learners must enrol before it.
Training spend links to two systems that South African employers already manage:
| Lever | How it works |
|---|---|
| Skills Development Levy (SDL) | Employers pay SDL at 1% of the leviable amount (total remuneration). Employers whose leviable amount over the next 12 months will not exceed R500,000 are exempt[2]. Your SETA refunds a mandatory grant of 20% of the levies you paid if you submit your Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report by 30 April and your levy payments are up to date[3]. |
| B-BBEE skills development | The generic Codes set an overall target of 6% of the leviable amount. This is made up of 3.5% on learning programmes for black people, 2.5% on bursaries for black students at higher education institutions, and a further 0.3% for black employees with disabilities[4]. Sector codes may differ. |
| Group economies | Training a whole team in-house usually costs less per head than sending people to public courses one at a time. |
This is general guidance to help you plan, not financial or legal advice. BOTI cannot promise grants or scorecard points, so confirm the specifics with your SETA, your skills development facilitator or your B-BBEE verification agency.
Tell us your team size, your preferred dates and where in Johannesburg you are based (Sandton, Midrand, Randburg, Rosebank or elsewhere). We will then put together a tailored in-house proposal.

Yes. We run the course in-house at your premises anywhere in Johannesburg, including Sandton, Midrand, Randburg and Rosebank. Delegates can also attend at BOTI’s venue in Sunningdale, Johannesburg, or join live online sessions.
Most teams start with the 2-day Project Management Fundamentals course. Staff who only support projects can take the 1-day fundamentals course. People already running projects can move on to the intermediate or advanced 1-day courses.
The short courses are not accredited, and delegates receive a BOTI certificate of attendance. For a formal qualification, BOTI offers the QCTO Occupational Certificate: Project Manager (SAQA ID 101869), which ends in an EISA and is certified by the QCTO.
In-house schedules are agreed with each client. Delivery can be split across separate days or run as a condensed block. Ask BOTI whether a weekend date is possible for your group.
In-house sessions suit a team or department. We will recommend a workable group size for your dates, so that everyone stays engaged and gets hands-on practice.
