High Performance Teams Inside the Company (1 day)

Team leaders who know how to build an on-site team that performs at a high level – and how to keep it there without burning people out.

A high-performing team is every manager's goal, but high performance has a dark side: internal competition, burnout, fear of failure and good people leaving. This high performance teams training shows junior and middle managers how to build and lead a team that produces quality results consistently – and how to sustain it without those costs.

The course is designed for teams that work together on site – in an office, branch, plant or contact centre – where the way people interact every day decides the results. Delegates look at what high-performing teams have in common, the team leader's role in training, feedback and problem solving, and the personal traits that make leaders worth following: vision, patience, humility, humour, courage and gratitude. They then turn to motivation and retention – praise and criticism that work, one-on-one time with each team member, and visibility, reward and mentoring for top performers.

Each topic is anchored in case studies and short exercises. Delegates finish by assessing their own team against the characteristics of high performance and planning the specific actions that will lift its results. Leaders of remote or hybrid teams should look at the High Performance Teams Remote course, which pursues the same goal for a team that rarely shares a room.
