Strategic Planning for a New Venture (Unit Standard 263456) (2 days)
Owners and managers of new ventures who use a strategic plan to steer the business, track the numbers and customer feedback that matter, and spot and fix performance problems early – with 4 accredited credits.
Many new ventures write a plan once, for the bank, and never look at it again. This accredited strategic planning course covers unit standard 263456 (NQF Level 4, 4 credits), a core unit standard of the Further Education and Training Certificate: New Venture Creation (SAQA ID 66249), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one explains strategic planning for a new venture: what a good plan contains, why its timing matters, how it supports performance monitoring, and how functional strategies and structures shape the way the business performs. Delegates then choose a monitoring tool, review supervision practices and marketing spend, and check the venture's progress against its plan.
Day two covers measuring and reporting performance, including financial indicators, customer satisfaction, reporting lines and report formats, and ends with a practical method for finding the root causes of performance problems and fixing them on time.
