Organisational Skills Course (1 day)
A desk, inbox and week that are under control – with simple systems delegates keep using long after the course.
Disorganisation is expensive: documents that cannot be found, deadlines missed because a task was never written down, an inbox with thousands of unread messages and the stress that comes with all of it. This organisational skills course gives delegates simple, practical systems for organising their work, their time and their workspace – and the habits to keep those systems going.
Over one day, delegates clear and arrange their workspace, prioritise with the urgent-important matrix and the 80/20 rule, put every deadline on one master calendar, and turn a long to-do list into a realistic daily plan. They set up filing that works on paper and on a shared drive, organise their email with folders, rules and flags, and learn practical ways to beat procrastination and protect their time from interruptions.
The workshop is hands-on: delegates work on their own task lists, calendars and inboxes during the day, and leave with a personal system and a two-week plan for making it stick.

Frequently asked questions
Can you run this course at our offices?
Yes. Most groups are trained at the client's premises anywhere in South Africa; we can also host it at a BOTI venue or deliver it live online.
How many people can attend?
From one delegate to groups of about 20. Training a team together helps, because they can agree shared filing and email conventions on the day.
Is it accredited?
No – it is a non-accredited short course and delegates receive a BOTI certificate of attendance.
Do delegates need a laptop?
It helps. Delegates who bring a laptop set up their email rules, folders and calendar during the day; those without one work on paper templates and set them up back at their desk.
Can it be tailored to our systems?
Yes. Tell us which email platform and shared drive you use and any filing rules you already have, and the facilitator builds the exercises around them.
How is this different from the Administrative Office Procedures Course?
This course is about organising yourself: your time, desk, files and inbox. The Administrative Office Procedures Course is about documenting how the office as a whole works.
