Unleashing the Power of AI for Everyday Work (2 days)

Staff in any role leave using AI for real daily work – routine tasks, data, planning and teamwork – safely and with their own judgement intact.

Most teams already have AI on their screens – ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Google Gemini – but few people use it for more than the odd email. Some avoid it altogether; others paste client data into it without a second thought. Practical AI training for employees closes that gap: everyone learns where AI saves real time in their own job, where it does not belong, and how to check what it produces before it is used.

This two-day course is BOTI's broad, introductory AI programme for staff in any role. Day one covers what AI is, taking repetitive work off people's desks, AI-supported decisions with data, planning and prioritising, and AI in team communication. Day two moves to learning and skills, workload and wellbeing, fair use of AI in performance conversations, responsible use under POPIA, and how to bring AI into a team without resistance.

It is hands-on throughout. Delegates work on tasks from their own jobs, and the facilitator chooses examples and case studies for your industry, from manufacturing and retail to financial services and the public sector. Everyone leaves with a personal AI plan for the following month.

    Why this course

    For your organisation

    • A whole team starting from the same practical grounding in AI
    • Routine drafting, admin and reporting time handed back to real work
    • Fewer data leaks and AI errors reaching clients, with POPIA in view
    • Concerns about AI raised and answered openly, not quietly avoided
    • A first set of team AI use cases you can build on

    For your delegates

    • No technical background needed – plain language from the start
    • Practice on tasks from your own job, not generic demonstrations
    • A simple routine for checking AI output before you use it
    • Clear rules on what may and may not go into an AI tool
    • A personal AI plan for the month after the course

What delegates will be able to do

    • Explain in plain language what AI is, what it does well and where it fails
    • Choose which of your routine tasks to hand to AI and which to keep
    • Use ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Gemini to draft, summarise and organise everyday work
    • Use AI to analyse a simple data set and test a decision before you make it
    • Plan, schedule and prioritise a busy week with AI assistance
    • Use AI meeting, chat and writing features to communicate more clearly with your team
    • Check AI output for errors, bias and invented facts, and keep personal information out of public tools
    • Plan how to introduce AI in your own team and respond to common concerns

    Who should attend

Employees, team leaders and managers in any role who want to use AI in their day-to-day work, and organisations that want a whole team to start from the same practical grounding. No technical background is needed: the course suits people who have never opened an AI tool as well as those who have experimented on their own. Teams that work mostly in Microsoft 365 can follow it with a Microsoft Copilot course, and specialists with one of BOTI's role-based one-day AI masterclasses.

    Frequently asked questions

Can you run this course at our offices?

Yes. Most groups are trained at the client's premises anywhere in South Africa; we can also host it at our Sunningdale venue in Johannesburg or deliver it live online.

    How many people can attend?

From one delegate to groups of 20. The price per delegate drops as the group grows – see the price table, or ask us for a quote.

    Is it accredited?

No – it is a non-accredited short course, and delegates receive a BOTI certificate of attendance.

Do delegates need technical knowledge or paid AI licences?

No technical knowledge is needed. The free versions of ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Gemini are enough for the exercises; if your organisation has business accounts or Microsoft 365 Copilot, we use those and follow your AI policy.

How is this different from BOTI's other AI courses?

This is the broad introduction for staff in any role. Microsoft Copilot at Work (2 days) goes deep on Copilot in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams; Generative AI at Work (2 days) goes deep on ChatGPT and prompt writing; and the one-day masterclasses apply AI to managers, HR, finance, sales, marketing and project managers.

Can the examples be tailored to our industry?

Yes. Tell us who will attend and what their work involves, and the facilitator builds the case studies and exercises around your sector.
