Motivating and Building a Team (Unit Standard 242819) (3 days)
Team leaders who understand what drives their people, read the dynamics in their team, and carry out a practical plan to strengthen it, with feedback and recognition that keep it going – with 10 accredited credits.
A motivated team works harder, stays longer and solves its own problems; a demotivated one quietly drags results down. This accredited employee motivation course covers unit standard 242819 (NQF Level 4, 10 credits), part of the FETC: Generic Management (SAQA ID 57712) and the FETC: New Venture Creation (SAQA ID 66249), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one looks at why motivation matters and how to tell whether a team is motivated, then turns to the team leader: an honest look at your own strengths and development areas, and at those of each team member, based on observation and feedback.
Day two compares theories of motivation, unpacks group dynamics such as conflict, personality, culture and power, and turns the insights into an action plan to strengthen the team, with the team's commitment and a way to track it. Day three is about keeping the momentum: observing the team, giving each member useful feedback, recognising contributions and adjusting the plan.
