Managing Suppliers, Stock and Assets (Unit Standards 109999 + 13945) (3 days)

Staff who draw up clear contracts with service providers, check what is delivered before paying, act decisively when suppliers fall short, and keep stock and fixed assets under control – with 7 accredited credits.

Late deliveries, vague contracts and stock that goes missing eat straight into the bottom line. This accredited supplier management course combines two unit standards at NQF Level 4, each taught and assessed on its own: unit standard 109999 on managing service providers (5 credits) and unit standard 13945 on managing stock and fixed assets in a business unit (2 credits). Both are part of the Further Education and Training Certificate: Business Administration Services (SAQA ID 61595), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.

Days one and two follow unit standard 109999: why contracts matter, what they must contain, how a provider's performance affects resources, money and time, and how to turn real requirements into project plans and contracts. Delegates then monitor delivery against the contract, approve payment only for satisfactory work, and work through the options when a supplier does not deliver, from investigation to cancellation or legal action.

Day three follows unit standard 13945: telling fixed assets from stock, the cost of too little or too much stock, stock turnover and the economic order quantity, the asset register and depreciation, and a plan to reduce the risks to stock and assets.
