Accreditation
The supply chain management course is a practical, facilitator-led programme built to lift on-the-job capability across procurement, stock and supplier management. It does not carry QCTO or SETA credits. BOTI itself is a QCTO-accredited Skills Development Provider and a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, and it remains accredited by the Services SETA (12582) for legacy qualifications still open to enrolment.

- the Occupational Certificate: Dispatching and Receiving Clerk (SAQA 99446, NQF Level 3)[1] for stores and receiving staff; ask BOTI for the current enrolment dates;
- the Occupational Certificate: Project Manager (SAQA 101869, NQF Level 5, 240 credits)[2], which ends in an EISA, with the certificate issued by the QCTO; the last date for enrolment is 30 December 2026[2];
- the legacy National Certificate: Generic Management (Services SETA), open for enrolment until 30 June 2028[3]; always check the qualification’s SAQA record for current dates.
Funding: how supply chain training is paid for
Most companies fund in-house training from their existing training budget. It helps to understand how the skills levy system works:
- Skills Development Levy (SDL): employers registered for the levy pay 1% of payroll[4]. Most of it goes to your SETA, and 20% goes to the National Skills Fund[5].
- Mandatory grant: 20% of the levies you paid can come back to you when your Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) are submitted to your SETA by 30 April and your levy payments are up to date[5]. Unclaimed mandatory grant money moves to discretionary funding by 15 August[5].
- Plan it in your WSP: listing supply chain and procurement training in your WSP, and reporting it in the next ATR, keeps your training record complete.
- B-BBEE: training spend is one of the elements measured under skills development on the B-BBEE scorecard; your verification agency decides how it is recognised for your company.
- Group economics: in-house training is quoted per group rather than per head, which is often more cost-effective for a full Cape Town team than sending individuals to public courses.

How is supply chain training funded?
Most companies pay from their training budget. How many people do we need for in-house team training?
