Training Advice
Achieving Objectives Systematically (Unit Standard 242822) (3 days)
Junior managers who turn a need into a measurable objective, build a plan the whole team understands, delegate the work and keep it on track until the objective is met – with 10 accredited credits.
Many teams work hard but still miss their targets, because the objective was vague, the plan lived in one person's head or nobody checked progress until it was too late. This accredited achieving objectives course covers unit standard 242822, Employ a systematic approach to achieving objectives (NQF Level 4, 10 credits), part of the Further Education and Training Certificate: Generic Management (SAQA ID 57712), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one is about the objective itself: writing a clear statement of intent based on a real need, setting measures such as output, cost, quality, deadlines and safety, and involving the team in refining them. Day two turns the objective into a plan: tasks, priorities, resources, time estimates, checkpoints and contingency plans, set out so that everyone affected can see and understand it.
Day three covers implementation and monitoring: delegating tasks, giving team members room to control their own work, setting up checks, comparing actual with planned progress and correcting course when results slip. Delegates work on an objective from their own unit throughout, so the plan they build becomes the core of their portfolio of evidence.
