Training Advice
Managing Individual and Team Performance (Unit Standard 11473) (3 days)
Supervisors and line managers who set clear, measurable goals, agree development plans that close skills gaps, and review performance fairly and honestly – with 8 accredited credits.
Performance management fails when goals are vague, development is an afterthought and reviews happen once a year in a rush. This accredited performance management course covers unit standard 11473 (NQF Level 4, 8 credits), an elective in the FETC: Generic Management (SAQA ID 57712), which BOTI delivers under its Services SETA accreditation.
Day one is about goals and measures: writing goals that are clear, measurable and achievable, linking them to career paths, company objectives and the Skills Development and Employment Equity Acts, quantifying them in terms of quantity, quality, time, cost and risk, and recording them in a performance contract that everyone has agreed to.
Day two turns to development plans that build the competencies the goals demand, with specific actions, time frames and owners. Day three covers monitoring and evaluation: choosing sound evaluation methods, keeping performance records up to date, analysing variations and giving feedback that recognises good work and deals with gaps.
