Training Advice
Staff who never had formal training leave able to use a computer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook confidently for everyday work.
Many capable employees were never taught to use a computer properly. They avoid digital tasks, lose files, retype documents and rely on colleagues for simple spreadsheets and emails. This basic computer course closes that gap in one week. It starts with the computer itself and Windows, then gives a full day each to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, so delegates build everyday skills in the order they need them.
The course is hands-on from the first hour. Each delegate works on a computer, practising realistic workplace tasks: a formatted letter and short report, a simple budget with formulas and a chart, a short presentation, and a well-organised mailbox and calendar. Safe use of email and the internet – strong passwords, spotting phishing and protecting personal information under POPIA – runs through the week.
It suits onboarding programmes, staff moving into administrative roles and long-serving employees who learnt on the job. No previous computer experience is needed.
